Do you think that being an advocate of victims of abuse is a sin that needs to be repented of?

Do you think that being an advocate of victims of abuse is a sin that needs to be repented of? We have reason to believe that some supporters of Jews for Jesus hold this viewpoint. And frankly, it strikes us as rather cold and hardhearted. If this is true, it would mean that Christian social workers, police, attorneys, and many other members of society would no longer be able to do their jobs without sinning. Sheesh, it seems like a new "sin" has been invented just to keep the "sins of the fathers" from being visited upon their children.

Any comments?

I guess Abraham Lincoln should not have worked so hard to end slavery in the South then.

Moses should have just stayed in the desert too.

I guess those who championed the cause of women voting were wrong and we should ban all women from voting today.

Why should German taxpayers who were babies or who weren't alive during WWII have to contribute to any Holocaust reparations funds created by the German government then?

Heck, Moses should have left well enough alone. As would be discussed later, Egypt wasn't so bad. Freedom is nice but being an elite slave has its perks.

As Moses' parents would tell you, some sacrifices might have to be made in regard to family, friends, etc. but sometimes a total commitment is the only option.

I guess those Jews for Jesus staff are in agreement that Child Pornography is okay?

Pornography is something that effects all groups and Jews for Jesus has worked with individuals to attempt to help them from continuing to view it.

I think the point of the question, "Do you think that being an advocate of victims of abuse is a sin that needs to be repented of?" needs to be view from the prospective that Jews for Jesus regularly shoots the messenger.

Jerusalem has been known to have killed a prophet or two so the problem is not limited to Jews for Jesus. But this can not be used as an excuss for the abuse or the attempt of sweeping the abuse and the whistle blower under the rug.

Oooh nice thread!

I'm still dying to read the scripture verse where this this sin is listed.

Seems like abusive is subjective, but reacting to it is sin.

I think that acknowledging that their culture is counter-Christian is a non-negotiable point.

Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand!

What does "Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand!" have to do with this thread? Are you saying that all advocates of abuse need to repent?

Seems like a call for ALL sinners to repent.
