David Brickner, just a puppet?

David Brickner, just a puppet?

Hmm, lets look back on the history of JFJ, and look all those who were thought to have leadership potential: Baruch Goldstein, he had too much, and got shipped out to Canada, too hard to control. Tuvya Zaretsky, since his engagement to a gentile woman was broken up by an executive, hadn't had the same swagger. Sam Nadler, kicked out. Barry Rubin, a long shot, but kicked out early. Avi Snyder, he had all the drive of Moishe, but was too short to be an American Figurehead, and shipped out to Russia, Efraim Goldstein, fizzled out and shipped out of the US, as well as Bob Mendlesohn. Andrew Barron had a lot of talent, but shipped out. Jhan Moskowitz, minus the apostrophe now, too often in Moishe's doghouse. And lastly the golden boy heir apparent Mitch Glaser. Unceremoniously dispatched. Who was left? The missionary Susan prayed with every morning for a year was then dubbed the next heir apparent. But he was raised to understand Church Culture i.e. fundraising. His father fund raised, his grandfather fund raised, his uncle fund raised. Not too Jewish for church sensibilities. Very nice guy to meet, but lacking empathy. Little charisma, little peer respect, few necessities, to mold, change, or guide JFJ into the new Millennium. But a perfect conduit for Moishe to continue leading JFJ, through Susan Perlman. Perhaps the most powerful woman in conservative Evangelical Christianity, that no one has heard of because she oversees David, in the day to day workings of Jews For Jesus, for Moishe. She is intensely loyal to Moishe, his "right hand man", assistant, and constant companion. Even if Moishe passes away she will defend his legacy.

Because of her, David can't say that "Moishe was evil," and he can't say that "we are distancing ourselves away from his paranoid-like suspicious excesses, and becoming more Biblical and balanced, in the treatment of our workers."

All he can say is "Things are getting better".

I find the sentence about Avi Snyder being too short to be an American Figurehead to be SO FUNNY! Thanks for making me smile!

It's so obvious that only a few people, if that many, are writing these posts. They all sound the same, have the same syntax, etc. Whoever you are, you are a very bitter and miserable human being. My the Lord have mercy on you and heal you.

I don't come here often because if I hear how evil Moishe and Jews for Jesus is from your mouths, I'll literally get sick to my stomach. Talk about the 'pot calling the kettle black'. The only evil and mean spirits in this blog are those of the few who keep writing and blaming JFJ for their miserable lives.

I know, I know...this sounds typical of JFJ...blame the ones who left, they're mentally unstable, they're embittered, etc. etc. etc. Problem is....you affirm this in each posting and have convinced me that there's a good reason JFJ says these things. Just like so-called cliches that have lasted for years, in many instances they're right.

You're not abused children for goodness sake...your adults, aren't you?

Hi Arleen!

Your comments, even if they are not signed, always look the same too. Your writing is always the same, have the same syntax, etc. You must be a miserable human being. May the Lord have mercy on you and heal you.

Now, getting back to the subject of this post:

I have heard that David Brickner had several barbeque grills lit up at a JFJ staff retraining gathering where all JFJ vocational staff were required to sacrifice offerings on these burning fires.

Can anyone explain what exactly occurred? This sounds so strange!

Bob Mendlesohn, Mendo, didn't just fizzle out. He was removed.

There were major problems between him and the rest of his staff he managed. Tuvya came to mediate in the winter of '97. Problems persisted so the big guns came out to handle the challenges.

Like the military, it is policy that when the Executive Director comes, the highest ranking person of the branch in town is to pick him up.

(jfj staff members often have to leave their work to "partner" with churches hundreds of miles away. The closer churches are to jfj's work, the less support jfj can raise.
In addtion to the Brooklyn Tabernacle, there or over 1,000 evangelical churches. If jfj was doing the work of the church, jfj could certainly raise funds for less than 25 staff members in the 5,000 evangelical churches than 30 miles away from the heart of "The Financial Capital of the World."
However, unlike Billy Graham Campaigns where believers can be found a year or more later, finding believers "saved" by jfj a week later is actually difficult. Inspite of reporting thousands "saved" each year and over 100,000 for the past 30 plus years, jfj still doesn't ask if anyone was "saved" as a result of their work in churches.)

Mendo forgot to make the trip to the airport. About a month later his family left the building before jfj's annual "Summer Campaign" with Mendo following the first of July.

It seems in the 45 minutes Brickner was waiting at the airport, a decision was made for Mendo to take his on plane ride.

On a more interesting note, over 90% of those on staff under Mendo in '97 were no longer part of the corporation 3 years later.

Greg S. who moved to Florida after completing his "training" is the only one besides Dr. G. that I know of.

Dr. G died a few years ago. That leaves only Greg

Why was Efraim shipped out of the US? (Let me add that he's not overly loved over where he is in Israel.)

Oh, and if this is Arlene (who I have never heard of) then good for you! Forget about all the people calling you bitter. If you've experienced something, who can tell you that you haven't?
Whoever is posting here, I congratulate you.

David Brickner was too consumed with the power vested in his position. He was not as much a puppet as the little boy who would try something on his own, and when that little boy got into trouble, would run to daddy to fix it or get him out of trouble. Most of the time the person playing the daddy part for Brickner was Rosen, but sometimes Perlman would be his daddy.
For example of the latter, when Brickner responded in anger to Moment magazine regarding the article they ran, most likely it was Perlman who engineered the "apology."

You cannot measure a man's heart by his height. I would go to war with Avi anytime especially at this time of eminant danger. We Jews need to Pray Daniel's prayer in Chapter 9.

Why should it mater if Brinkner married a gentile, particularly since he is a gentile. Anyway, why should JFJ care if a Jew marries a gentile if chr-stianity says Jews and gentiles are under one covenant under Yohske?
